The name of this beautiful colonial city in "Los Altos de Jalisco" (The Highlands of Jalisco) of Lagos de Moreno is in memory of insurgent General Pedro Moreno (1775-1817), who led the effort for independence from Spain. (p) Lagos de Moreno is 2.5 hours from Guadalajara, 30 minutes north of Leon, and one hour south of Aguascalientes. The site enjoys a wonderful mild Spring-like temperatures almost year round. This is really "Old Mexico" featuring old style Colonial architecture, yet it is surrounded by modern commodities and conveniently nestled between two International Airports.
